Frankfort District 157-C: 2023-24 School Calendar

FRANKFORT, IL — If you're planning final summer vacation plans, it may be useful to know when the first day of school is for Frankfort District 157-C.

This year, District 157-C students will head back to school on Sept. 5. The Sept. 5 start date means students won't head back until after Labor Day, which is on Sept. 4 this year.

District spokesperson Nicole Swanberg told Patch the later start date is to accommodate the construction at Chelsea Intermediate School.

"This is a one-time adjustment that has been long planned, and the calendar will go back to normal the following school year," she said.

Other important dates to know for the upcoming school year are:

• Sept. 6, first day for pre-K students
• Oct. 6, no school, teacher institute
• Oct. 9, no school
• Oct. 31, early dismissal, school improvement day
• Nov. 17, early dismissal, school improvement day
• Nov. 20-21, no school, parent-teacher conferences
• Nov. 22-24, no school
• Dec. 22, early release one hour
• Dec. 25-Jan. 5, no school, winter break
• Jan. 8, no school, teacher institute
• Jan. 15, no school
• Feb. 16, early dismissal, school improvement day
• Feb. 19, no school
• March 22, early release one hour
• March 25-March 29, no school, spring break
• April 1, no school
• May 24, early dismissal, school improvement day
• May 27, no school
• June 11, early dismissal, last day of school
