Frankfort Fall Fest 2017: What You Need To Know

Food, entertainment, parade time and the historical significance of Frankfort Fall Fest in 2017.

FRANKFORT, IL -- The Frankfort Fall Festival is one year away from celebrating its 50th anniversary of its current form, an end of summer celebration held over Labor Day weekend. The festival will take shape in historic downtown Frankfort with events planned for Saturday, Sunday and the Monday holiday.

More than 300 artisans will be on hand to showcase their wares for the more than 300,000 people who attend this arts and crafts event annually. Here's a guide to the festival if you are planning to go.

The Festival began as a small community picnic in 1935 in the grove off of La Grange Road. The Festival we see today began to take shape in 1968 when village officials decided to celebrate Illinois’ Sesquicentennial over Labor Day weekend.

What's New?

A gourmet packaged foods area will be added to the festival this year.

Parking:

Parking is available with shuttle bus service to the festival at Grassy Lot, U.S. Route 45 (La Grange Road) and Nebraska Street. The cost to park is a $10 donation to Frankfort Boy Scout Troop #270

Shuttle Bus:

There will be bus service to the festival area with drop-off and pick-up in the Prairie Park Lot located at White Street and Elwood Street. The service runs continuously on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parade:

This year's parade will kickoff at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The theme is “Frankfort & Co.!”
