Frankfort Funeral Home Stiffed Coffin Company Out of $50K: Lawsuit

A Frankfort funeral home stiffed an Indiana casket company out of more than $50,000, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.

The Batesville Casket Company sued Gerardi Funeral Home and Eugene J. Gerardi, claiming the Lincoln Highway funeral parlor failed to pay a promissory note for $53,987.02.

Batesville is the “clear leader in the North American death care industry,” according to its website. Gerardi Funeral Home has “served the Frankfort, Mokena, New Lenox, and surrounding south suburbs for over 90 years,” its website said.
