The annual Lighting of the Green is set for Nov. 30, at 6:30 p.m., on Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.
FRANKFORT, IL — In just a few short weeks, Frankfort's Breidert Green will be covered in lights for the holiday season.
The annual Lighting of the Green is set for Nov. 30, at 6:30 p.m., on Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature festive music from the Hickory Creek Middle School Choir and a grand countdown to the lighting of the tree.

“The Annual Lighting of the Green is a wonderful opportunity to embrace the magic of the season and create lasting memories with family and friends,” Mayor Keith Ogle said in a release. “Let’s kick off the holiday season by lighting up our beautiful village and our hearts together.”
There will also be special holiday guests, including Santa and Mrs. Claus. Police, fire and public works vehicles will be adorned with holiday decor, and complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be offered, according to the Village.
