Frankfort Mayor Gives Update On Spring Events
The village is discussing options for the spring market, and a virtual event may be planned for the annual Memorial Day ceremony.

FRANKFORT, IL — At May 4 village board meeting, Mayor James Holland gave an update about several spring events scheduled to take place in Frankfort. First, the mayor discussed the spring market, which usually begins at the end of April, but has been canceled so far.
At next week's committee meetings, a week from [May 6], the market will be discussed, Holland said.
"Staff has been working on some ways we can get our market going," Holland said. The village will discuss the options at a committee meeting this week.

"That would be a gathering of people, so it would not be appropriate," Holland said.

Lastly, Holland discussed the Memorial Day ceremony, which is usually held on Breidert Green.
"We're not going to say it's canceled," Holland said. "What we're going to say is we will probably make it a virtual ceremony."
The VFW is considering its options for the event.
"I know a number of our community members feel that ceremony is very important," Holland said. "I think there's a way to get it done."
