Frankfort Park District: Splash Pad Renovations Begin Week Of 10/4/21

Pardon our dust…… New Splash Pad Coming in 2022.

The Park District has approved renovations to the Commissioners Park splash pad.

The existing splash pad at Commissioners Park was constructed in 2004. The existing splash pad is on a dedicated well and the well water is rich in iron and the temperature of the well water is cold.

The upgrades include the addition of a re-circulation system which will treat the water improving the water quality and the temperature. The project also includes the replacement of the existing splash pad features and new surface. These upgrades are planned for the 2022 season. The rendering of the new equipment is below. The foot print of the splash pad will not be increased. A portion of the project is funded through a grant from the DCEO with additional capital funds from the park district.

The area around the splash pad and parts of the bathroom facility will be fenced off. Bathrooms will no longer be available. A portable restroom will be available.
