Frankfort Patch Readers Have Mixed Reaction To Fall Fest Plans

Nearly 100 Patch readers shared their thoughts on the festival moving forward, and the reaction was mixed.

FRANKFORT, IL — With the official news that Frankfort Fall Fest is moving forward, Frankfort Patch reached out to its readers to ask them their thoughts.

Nearly 100 Patch readers shared their thoughts on the festival moving forward, and the reaction was mixed. Some readers expressed concerns about crowds and also questioned what health guidelines would be in place and whether mask wearing would be enforced.

"Pass," one reader wrote. "What a horrible risk."

"Don't really think this is a smart idea," another reader said. "At the very least, everyone should be required to wear a mask and rides should be sanitized, and I think they should end it a few hours prior to how they used to end it."

Others wrote that they would be in attendance, and some wrote they had "no concerns."

"And those who have fear into going back to our normal lives ... stay indoors," one reader said. "Ain't nobody forcing you to attend."

"Definitely attending," one reader wrote. "Hand washing stations, sanitizers would be great!"

Fall Fest chair John Clavio said on Facebook that this year's event should be thought of as a "fall arts and crafts market."

Organizers have not yet shared exact health guidelines or how large the event will be.

According to guidelines of phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, gatherings of up to 50 are permitted and face masks are required when social distancing can't be enforced. Patch has reached out to event organizers on how health guidelines will be observed at the fest.
