Frankfort Plans Meeting To Discuss Bike Path Grant

The village wants to apply for this grant for a bike path along the north side of Sauk Trail Road between Pfeiffer Road and 80th Avenue.

FRANKFORT, IL — Mayor Jim Holland and the village trustees will hold a public meeting at the Village Administration Building at 5 p.m. Monday, March 9 to discuss a grant opportunity from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Bicycle Path Grant Program for Fiscal Year 2020. The public is invited to attend.

According to a release, the village wants to apply for this grant for a bike path along the north side of Sauk Trail Road between Pfeiffer Road and 80th Avenue. This portion would complete the loop to allow residents in Prestwick, Lakeview Estates, Frankfort Meadows and Timbers Edge access to the Old Plank Road Trail.

“The trustees and I are excited for the opportunity to apply for grant funding to complete a portion of our trail system that will benefit so many in our community,” Holland said in a release.
