Frankfort Police Cadet Post Accepting Applicants

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort police are inviting teen and young adults to participate in the cadet post, an opportunity to learn a bit about what police service is like. Ages 15 to 21 are eligible.
Police say the post offers high schoolers and young adults an "opportunity to get a in depth look at the workings of a police department, day-to-day activities done by officers, with actual hands on, role playing scenarios."
Police are holding an informational session Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Frankfort Police Department for those interested in finding out more.

Cadets with interest in joining law enforcement will have a chance to prepare for the testing process and have some interviews.
Applicants must match these criteria:

- Between the ages of 15-21
- Be a high school student with a C average or higher
- Have had no negative police contact
- Able to provide evidence/references of positive, productive character traits
- Be willing to volunteer personal time to be part of Police/Community activities.
