Frankfort Police Respond To Multiple Motor Vehicle Burglaries

"The unknown offenders went into open garages and vehicles to remove unsecured property" in multiple locations April 22.

Today at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Frankfort Police Department responded to reports of several burglaries to motor vehicles. The unknown offenders went into open garages and vehicles to remove unsecured property. The offenders were driving a White Jeep Cherokee with Illinois vehicle registration #AV53448.

This vehicle was reported stolen from Wilmington, IL on 04/21/20. The description of one of the offenders is a thin black male, 5’08’’, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Witnesses related they observed other occupants inside of the White Jeep Cherokee. The incidents were reported in the 600 block of Franklin, the 500 block of Cedar Lane, and 500 block Tanglewood Lane.

We would like to remind our residents to call the Frankfort Police Department immediately if you see or hear anything suspicious. Be aware of your surroundings and make sure vehicles are locked and overhead garage doors are shut when you are not around.
