Frankfort resident Derrick Lott has been elected to the Crisis Center for South Suburbia’s Board of Directors. Lott was inspired to get more involved after Board President Katie Abbott invited him to the Crisis Center’s annual gala this past February where he learned about the services for victims of domestic violence and heard survivor stories that clients and staff shared with him.

Lott is the owner/operator of four local McDonalds stores in Homewood, Country Club Hills and Chicago Heights. He started with McDonalds when he was 17 years old and has been an owner/operator since 2001. “I love doing things for the communities in which I work and live. They’ve been good to my family and me and giving back is something that motivates me,” Lott said.

Lott has also joined the Development Committee of the Board in hopes of increasing awareness and helping raise money for domestic violence services in the southwest suburbs. “Everyone knows someone who has been a victim of domestic violence. I’m just glad that I can help advocate for these victims and ensure that there will always be someone there to listen, support and provide help.”
