Frankfort Square Wildcats LW Teal

On a great fall October Sunday evening, the Frankfort Square Lightweight Teal Wildcats, started their playoffs run with a 30-13 win over their long-time rival, the Mokena Burros. The Wildcats 5th Quarter started the evening off with a TD of 40 yards by Tyler Pinkston, with other run up the field by Ben Bunda, Kyle Swarens, Connor Bird, Brett Stevens and Jackson Jenson. The 5th Quarter team was lead by the steady hand of Jake Jemilo at QB, with solo passes to Tyler Hoffman, and Ben Hranicka. With the offensive line also playing a big part in their success, Aidan Mirabella, Ryan Lambie, Ryan Hoffman, Nate Gorgens, Tyler Drexel, Brandon Davidson, and Connor Gemmell, the 5th Quarter Cats put Mokena on their heels early and got our large crowd and team into the game.

The Wildcats dominated over Mokena’s first possession with a game fumble recovery on the second play. Josh Safarik with the recovery led the offense with only 7 plays to put the ball in the end zone with a 2-yard run by Danny Giusto (9 carries, 59 yards, 2TD). The Wildcats continued to their lead throughout the game with these highlights:

Mokena’s next possession, on the first play, was fumbled and recovered by Danny Giusto. The offense ran just 7-plays to score again with a 12-yard TD run by Matt Hudik. Mokena’s 3rd Possession, with 2-plays in, and a fumble recovered by Ryan Kordas. The offense performed the next 8-plays wonderfully, resulting in another TD run by Danny Gusto. The Wildcat offense was lead by DJ Ritter (127-yards & 2-TD’s,) Josh Safarik (8-carries, 34-yards). Lead by the line of Jack Florentine, Ronan Poynton, Pete Schuler, Collin McEldowney, Jack Tess, Brandon Burk, Sammy Dye and others that contributed to the offense. Matt Hudik (1- rush, 12-yards TD), Connor Bird (3 yard, Extra Point).

The Wildcats defense recovered 4-fumbles, lead in tackles with Danny Giusto, DJ Ritter with 4 each, Jackson Jenson with 3, Brandon Burke, Josh Safarik, Connor Bird, Ryan Hoffman, Jack Florentine, Jake Rogovic, and Evan Les each with 2 tackles.

The Cats move on to round-2 play-offs against the JR Warrior team of New Lenox, on Sunday, October 18 in Orland Park at 2:30P, John Humphrey Complex. Good Luck Wildcats!
