Frankfort Square Wildcats LW Team September 27th, 2015 win over Chanooka Braves Black

On a day where the Frankfort Square Wildcats Celebrated “Tackle Cancer” at Lincoln Way North H.S., the Frankfort Square Wildcats Lightweight Teal went back to what they do best, having fun and playing at their very best. Extra special thank you to the Braves for helping to sponsor our “Tackle Cancer” fundraising efforts. The day’s proceeds went to The American Cancer Society Frankfort/Mokena Chapter!!
The Wildcats advanced of the Chanooka Braves Black 26-14 to improve there record to 6-1 with an undefeated home record of 4-0 and clinched a playoff berth. The FS Wildcats, after a scoreless first quarter took control in the 2nd quarter with 20 yard TD run By Josh Safarik, and a 37 yard TD run by D.J. Ritter with our first ever 2 point field goal kick by Brandon Burke.
In the 3rd quarter another TD run by Josh Safarik of 37 yards made it 20-0. But that was not a shut out by no means, Chanooka Braved scored on the 17 yard line pass play to make the score 20-7. Then the Wildcats defense moved in on a 50 yard interception “pick 6” return by D.J. Ritter. The Chanooka Braves added a late tally to make the final score 26-14 Wildcats.

The offense was led by Josh Safarik 6 carries 72 yards and 2 TDs, DJ Ritter 9 carries 96 yards and a TD, Danny Giusto 7 carries 20 yards, Sammy Dye 1 catch for 20 yards, Brandon Burke 2 pt extra point field goal, others with carries Tyler Pinkston, Ryan Kordas, Jackson Jensen, Kyle Swarens, Conor Bird, and Matt Hudik each with 3 carries and 5 yards.
The defense had a strong day...3 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions 1 for TD.

Earlier in the day the Cats won the 5th quarter on a pass from Jake Jemilo to Tyler Hoffman for 45 yards. The Cats move to on this week to play and undefeated Homer Glenn Maroon squad and then will head to the playoffs.
