Freddy's Frozen Custard Planned In Frankfort
A workshop for a future public hearing for a Freddy's Frozen Custard location in Frankfort is on the next Plan Commission agenda.

FRANKFORT, IL – A national chain restaurant that specializes in steak burgers and frozen custard treats could open on Lincoln Highway in Frankfort. The Frankfort Plan Commission has a workshop for a future public hearing request on the agenda for its Thursday, Oct. 12 meeting for Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, a national chain with locations in most states.
According to the plan commission meeting agenda, Freddy's is seeking a major planned unit development change and special use for a carry-out restaurant with outdoor seating and drive-thru service. The plan is proposed for 9701 W. Lincoln Highway in Frankfort.
A spokeswoman for the company said officials are "excited to plan for Freddy's opening in Frankfort" and that "the development timeline is being finalized."

Freddy's serves food and drink at its locations throughout the United States. Menu items include hot dogs, patty melts and more than a dozen frozen custard options.
The plan commission meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Frankfort Village Hall, with the Freddy's item listed among the final topics on the agenda.

Freddy's lists four active franchises in Illinois on its website and three others that are "Coming Soon."
But Frankfort isn't one of them at the moment. The company does list a "Coming Soon" franchise at 7402 W. 159th St. in Orland Park.
