Fun This Fall: Autumn Events At Frankfort Park District
Fall events include a senior luncheon, scarecrow building contest and more.
FRANKFORT, IL — With the start of fall quickly approaching, the Frankfort Park District has already released its line-up of special events this autumn.
First up is a Harvest Moon Ball from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Founders Community Center, 140 Oak St. The all-ages event is $20 per person and includes a live DJ and professional photographer. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 19.
For seniors, a fall luncheon is planned from noon to 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 at Founders Community Center. It is $7 for those 55 and older, and includes food and live entertainment. Register by Oct. 2.

Families can also participate in the park district's scarecrow building contest this fall. The scarecrows will be displayed outside the Founders Community Center. If you'd like to build a scarecrow, pick-up will be available starting Aug. 21, and scarecrows are due back on Oct. 10. Voting will run from Oct. 12 to Oct. 31.
Another family-friendly event, the park district will host Thriller At Main Park, 400 W. Nebraska St., on Oct. 13. There will be multiple time sessions for the event, which will include a dance party, balloon artist, games, hayride, dance contest, crafts, a small pumpkin patch and more. You must register by Oct. 6.

To finish off the Halloween season, the park district will hold Howl-A-Woof on Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Bark Park. Dogs are welcome to come in costume and there will be a costume contest, bone yard hunt, and trick-or-treating. This is a free, on-leash event.
