Busted Gas Line Forces Frankfort Square Residents Out of Homes
The gas line was hit while workers were planting trees.
Several Frankfort Square residents were forced from their homes Thursday night after a gas line severed.
Workers hit the gas line on Wintergreen Drive, while planting parkway trees, Frankfort Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Tim Campbell told Sun-Times Media.
The trees were replacements for uprooted ash trees, lost to the Emerald Ash Borer last year.
The residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure, Campbell told Sun-Times Media. They were back in their homes just over an hour later.
