'Get Hooked On Frankfort' Kids Fishing Derby Planned In May

FRANKFORT, IL — The Village of Frankfort is set to host its annual 'Get Hooked on Frankfort' fishing derby on May 16 for kids up to age 12.

The catch-and-release fishing derby will be held at Prairie Park in downtown Frankfort. The event is for kids ages 3-12, and it is $10 per resident and $15 for nonresidents.

Ages 3 to 7 will fish first, from 8 to 8:45 a.m., followed by ages 8-12 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., according to the Village. The registration fee includes a T-shirt, snack, drink, bait and a fishing hook. Kids should bring their own pole.

The registration deadline is May 14, and space is limited.
