Guitarist From Frankfort to Lead Buckingham Fountain Event

CHICAGO, IL - A Frankfort musician will play a key role in the switching on of the Buckingham Fountain in Chicago this year.

FUZE, a local Chicago cover band, was selected over several others to be the opening act of the "Switch on Summer" event that officially turns on the fountain, according to a news release. The band's lead guitarist and vocalist is William Rincon of Frankfort.

Rincon and FUZE will perform at the season opening ceremony from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on May 6 at Buckingham Fountain. It will be part of a three-hour event from 4-7 p.m.

FUZE specializes in covers of Grammy-award winner Carlos Santana, but also covers other well-known artists such as Chicago, Los Lonely Boys and Jimi Hendrix, according to a news release.

The band beat out several others for the opportunity via a ComEd contest held on social media. Their submission video received more than 20,000 views on Facebook.
