Hickory Creek 6th grade girls basketball team wins conference championship
Perfect record of 21 victories and 0 losses
The sixth grade Lady Tigers completed an exciting season in the Des Plaines Valley Conference. The Lady Tigers ended up winning every game and finishing with a perfect record of 21 victories and 0 losses.
The girls overcame tough competition throughout Will County and a two week run of influenza. Everyone was needed to step up and contribute when another teammate was ill. The hallmark of the 2014 Lady Tigers was a relentless defense. The Hickory Creek defensive intensity set the tone for all twenty-one victories. No one was too strong that she could not improve and no one was too weak to contribute. All players scored, rebounded, and made significant contributions to the outcome of the season.
Coach Patrick Feehan stated, “I’m most proud of the positive attitudes each girl displayed in practice, even when early morning practices were required. The 2014 Lady Tigers earned the conference championship and are eager to compete in next year’s state tournament.”
