Hickory Creek Drama Club Earns High Ratings At Speech Contest

Students competed against one another and were asked to memorize a five to 10-minute script written for monologue or duet and perform.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Hickory Creek Drama Club participated in the IESA Speech Contest at the school and earned 61 first place ratings and eight second place ratings. According to the district, students competed against one another and were asked to memorize a five to 10-minute script written for monologue or duet and perform their piece for a guest judge from Hickory Creek.

The following performers also received a Judge’s Choice Award, or outstanding performance of the day: Eleni Xenidis, Kristin Stingily, Harper Szupur, Paige Osborne, Molly Reidy, Elizabeth Sambo, Amber Saldok, Sophia Arcos, Samaya Dochee, Ava Gee, Lila Kemerer, Keira Walsh, Ava Venable, Ana Podlesak, Audrey Gleason and Elizabeth Labuda.

National Junior Honor Society members filmed each performance, as no outside audience members could attend, the district said.

The Drama Club is coached by Mrs. Grady, Mrs. Swierczewski and Mrs Drozd.
