Hickory Creek Golfers Participate In IESA Golf Sectionals
12 Hickory Creek Middle School students participated in the IESA golf sectionals on Sept. 9.
FRANKFORT, IL — 12 Hickory Creek Middle School students participated in the IESA golf sectionals on Sept. 9. The boys sectional took place at the Pontiac Elks Golf Course in Pontiac, and the girls sectionals took place at the Mendota Golf Club in Mendota.
According to the district, on the boys team, awards were given to sixth grader Colin Bettenhausen and eighth grader Quinn Bouck. Colin shot a 106 and finished eighth overall and Quinn shot a 108 and finished 10th overall.
Members of the boys team include: Evan Miller (12th overall), Jeffery Brewer (13th overall), MJ Schley (20th overall), and Ari Daniels (31st overall). The team faced opponents from St. Paul's, Homer Junior High School, Grace Christian Academy, Saratoga Community Consolidated School District 60C, Holy Family School, Shepherd Middle School, Wallace Grade School, Pontiac Jr. High School, St. Mary's Catholic School, Saunemin Community Consolidated School District 438, and Waltham Elementary District 185, the district said.

The girls team includes: Sarina Nayden (12th overall), Elizabeth Burfeind (16th overall), Blaine Zerkarias (20th overall), Elizabeth Sambo (22nd overall), Noelani Hill (23rd overall), and Rebecca Brewer. The district said the girls team faced opponents from Barrington Middle School Prairie and Station Campuses, Belvidere South Middle School, Lycée Français de Chicago, Sacred Heart, Coal City Middle School, Earlville Junior High School, Big Hollow Middle School, Holy Family School, Shepherd Middle School, Eisenhower Middle School, and Saunemin Community Consolidated School District 438.
The district said there will not be an IESA state final tournament.
