Hickory Creek Middle School "Pink Out" to fight cancer

Athletes raise funds for Mokena Cancer Support Center

Hickory Creek Middle School held a “Pink Out” for the girls’ basketball teams. To show their support of beating cancer, all of the basketball players, cheerleaders and coaches dressed in pink. The effort included the selling of pink goodies to the fans and having a donation jar at the front table. At the end of the event, $253 was collected. The proceeds will be donated to the Mokena Cancer Support Center.


The girls’ basketball coaches include Patrick Feehan for sixth grade, Dan Finan for seventh grade, Sean Plese for eighth grade and Katie Ellinghaus and Tania Wilson for cheerleading.


The “Pink Out” event supports the District 157-C Character Counts character education program.
