Hickory Creek State Science Fair results

Four students earn Gold Awards

Following the school science fair and the Illinois Regional 9 competition, four Hickory Creek Middle School seventh grade students qualified to advance to the state science exposition at Southern Illinois University.

Students Brandon Hudson, Matthew Halliman and Trenton Lyke presented and were judged on their project entitled “Creating a Safer Pesticide.” Kira Martin presented and was judged on her project entitled “Comparing Sorbents to Clean Up an Oil Spill.” All students won “Gold” awards, the highest award given at the event.

Hickory Creek Science Fair teacher sponsors were Dan Finan and Cheryl Wojnarowski.
