Every year the Hickory Creek Middle School spring musical comes around to Frankfort. This year, the people of Frankfort will be able to see HCMS students performing the adaptation of the amazing Disney production, High School Musical! The play will be performed on May 19, 20, and 21 at Hickory Creek Middle School, 22150 S Owens Road in Frankfort. The times for the musical are May 19 at 7 PM, May 20 at 2 & 7 PM, and May 21 at 2 PM. There will be refreshments during intermission as well. The musical is about a male sports jock (Troy) and a female brainiac (Gabriella) who try out for the school musical. When they make call backs, things start to get a little crazy! The two find themselves stuck in a big problem. The other two characters, Ryan and Sharpay desperately want the main roles. Will Troy and Gabriella get in the way of the two theatre kids? Two of Troy and Gabriella’s friends, Taylor and Chad, try to prevent Troy and Gabriella from attending callbacks so that everyone can stick to the “Status Quo.” Will Troy and Gabriella be able to do the callbacks or will they have to pass them up to follow their cliques? The characters go through an amazing journey and their lives are changed forever. The play is being directed by Leslie Walton, Choir Director and Music and Art teacher at Hickory Creek, and Cynthia Heath, who is also on the Frankfort Village Board of Trustees. Everyone in the show has put a lot of work and dedication into this year’s school musical.
