Jewel Thieve Break Into New Lenox Homes

Burglars broke into a pair of New Lenox homes and made off with jewelry.

Both crimes were reported to the police on Thursday.

In one, an officer "was dispatched to the 2700 block of Sunrise reference a report of residential burglary," police said. "The complainant advised that an unknown person forced entry through the front door of the house and removed jewelry."

In the other, an "officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of Hoop reference a report of residential burglary," police said. "The complainant advised that an unknown person forced entry through the garage service door of the house and removed jewelry."

Both cases were sent to the department's investigations division for review.
