Join the 'Conservation@Home' Movement
Learn how to create an oasis for native species in your backyard during these informative workshops at Plum Creek Nature Center.

Learn how to create a nature-friendly backyard filled with native species by attending the Forest Preserve District of Will County's "Conservation@Home" kickoff event, which is being held in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources, The Conservation Foundation and Possibility Place Nursery.
The event will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, at Plum Creek Nature Center, 27064 S. Dutton Road, Beecher. Visitors can peruse program literature from partner organizations before attending 30-minute information sessions. "Conservation@Home" sessions will be offered at 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. The "Do's & Don'ts of Native Landscaping" with botanist Kelsay Shaw of Possibility Place Nursery will be held at 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Registration is required; call 708-946-2216 to reserve a spot. Registrants will be entered in a raffle to win one of two rain barrels being provided by The Nature Conservancy.

Also at the kickoff, the Friends of the Forest Preserve District of Will County will provide information on native plant species that will be for sale during its upcoming "Bringing Nature Home Native Plant Sale," planned for Saturday, May 20, at the Sugar Creek Administration Center in Joliet.
