Kiddie Academy Of Frankfort Holds Drive-By Parade
Teachers and management dressed up as Disney characters and waved to students and families as they drove by.
FRANKFORT, IL — While older children are missing end-of-year events at school, younger children at the Kiddie Academy of Frankfort are also missing their friends and teachers. Most childcare facilities in Illinois have been closed since the stay-at-home order began in March, including the Kiddie Academy in Frankfort.
The childcare facility decided to hold a drive-by parade at the facility, 9473 W. Saint Francis Road, so they could see students and families.
"We missed our families, so we decided to do a parade to show them how much we missed them," Director Dana Koprowski told Patch. The facility had a Disney-themed parade, and all the teachers and management dressed like a Disney character and waved to families as they drove around the facility.

The staff also wished happy birthday to the children who may have celebrated in March or April.
"When you drove past our playground we had a birthday banner with all the children names on it that have had a birthday we missed being away," Koprowski said. At the end of the parade, the children then received a bag of art supplies and activities to do at home.
