L-W District Sued After Football Stadium Mishap

The civil lawsuit was filed by an Orland Park resident at the Will County Courthouse.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Lincoln-Way School District in New Lenox faces a new civil lawsuit at the Will County Courthouse after a spectator was injured attending a home football game in Frankfort last Sept. 15, 2017. Orland Park resident Linzi Harris filed the lawsuit against the district seeking a judgment "in a sum in excess of $50,000, plus costs."

The incident happened at Lincoln Way East High School, though the lawsuit doesn't name the actual high school. Instead, it simply lists the incident as occurring at 201 Colorado Ave. in Frankfort.

At any rate, Harris was at the football game last Sept. 15 and "was injured during the course of her stay on the premises," contends her lawyer James Bizzieri of the Bizzieri Law Offices in Chicago.

"On or about September, 15, 2017, the pavement next to the football field was cracked, broken, uneven, defective and dangerous causing Linzi to trip and fall while watching a football game," her lawsuit states.

The lawsuit accuses Lincoln-Way schools of nine separate allegations of negligence including having "failed to warn that there was an unreasonably dangerous condition to Linzi and others" and having "failed to adequately repair the dangerous area."
