L-W North and West Bands Excel in First Competition
Bands competed at the Lake Park Lancer Joust Sept. 12–13.

The Lincoln-Way North and West High School marching bands are off to a great start to the 2015 competitive season.
The Lincoln-Way North Marching Phoenix took third place in the Class AA preliminary competition and fifth place overall in the finals performance during the Lake Park Lancer Joust last weekend.
The Lincoln-Way West Marching Warriors finished in first place in Class A and seventh place in finals. The Warriors earned caption awards for best music performance, visual performance, and general effect.

The Marching Phoenix also earned caption awards, ranking best in their class for visual performance and Colorguard. They were also named best marching band in the Manhattan Labor Day Parade.
“We are proud of the outstanding performance from our Marching Phoenix,” said Kirk Hickman, North Band Director.
