Lincoln-Way East Anatomy Classes Visit Cadaver Lab

Medical anatomy students listened to a presentation from Dr. Beeker that discussed careers in chiropractic and naturopathic medicine.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Lincoln-Way East Medical Anatomy classes recently visited the National University Cadaver Lab on March 1. The school said students listened to a presentation from Dr. Beeker that discussed careers in chiropractic and naturopathic medicine, and were allowed to view a patient and other dissected and diseased organs for comparison.

“The field trip to National University was an amazing opportunity to apply the knowledge I have learned from class,” Ivana Farkic said in a release .

Dr. Beeker also walked students through the major muscle groups, organs and systems of the human body.

“The cadaver lab was a very eye opening, one of a kind experience that gave me the opportunity to apply my knowledge that I’ve learned throughout the year,” Catherine Miles added.

"Having the opportunity to see and examine multiple real organs solidified my desire to work in the medical field," Alexis Krause said in a release.

“This is a unique program that gives our future medical students a better idea of the expectations in a college laboratory setting,” Camille Gonzalez-Jensen, one of the two instructors that teach the course this year, said in a release.
