Lincoln-Way Journalism Students Recognized At Conference
Students from East, Central, and West earned recognition across multiple categories.
FRANKFORT, IL — Several student journalists at Lincoln-Way high schools earned recognition across multiple categories at the annual Southwest Suburban Conference Journalism Conference last week, the District shared in a news release.
The conference, held at Carl Sandburg High School, brought student journalists from across the region for a day of learning, collaboration and competition, the District said. Attendees heard presentations from an assignment editor as well as reporters representing TV, radio, and print news.

Central student Kai Hough earned second place in Entertainment, and Breeanna Williams took home first place in editorial.
From East, Azariya Davis earned first place in features, while Emily Noesen took third place in editorials. Jaida Abdelrahman was awarded third place in news and second place in photography.

From West, Billy Kolacek placed third in photography for his “Soccer Playoffs” image, and Annabelle Fazekas earned third place in features for her article, “A Freshman’s First Year.”
