Lincoln-Way Marching Band Part Of Virtual 'Parade Of Heroes'
The Parade of Heroes will be hosted by Ancestry.com and will stream online on May 25.
FRANKFORT, IL — On Memorial Day, the Lincoln-Way Marching Band will join national organizations in honoring veterans through the virtual “Parade of Heroes,” on Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m.
The Parade of Heroes will be hosted by Ancestry.com and will stream online on Ancestry's Facebook page, the district said. Television personality Kathie Lee Gifford will host the show with a special guest performance by Tori Kelly.
According to the district, this Memorial Day virtual parade, which also helps commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, will bring to life stories of strength and hope through exclusive veteran interviews and special tributes. The Lincoln-Way Marching Band will have 30-40 students performing, "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," from their homes on individual cameras which will then be edited together.

“This is an amazing opportunity for the LWMB to participate in this event, especially in
today’s circumstances," the LWMB directors jointly stated in a release. “We couldn’t be more excited to contribute to honoring so many important veterans in such a unique way.”
