Lincoln-Way Students Compete At Journalism Conference

FRANKFORT, IL — 24 students from Lincoln-Way District 210 attended the SWSC Journalism Conference last week, including two students from Lincoln-Way East who earned awards for best articles, according to a release from the District.

Conference was held at Stagg High School, and included five sessions about different types of journalism. Speakers included freelance writer Jeff Vorva, Colleen McCormick from CBS News, Lauren Traut from Patch and Joe Ward from Block Club Chicago, according to the District.

Two Lincoln-Way East students earned awards, including Will Hayden, who placed third for sports, and Victoria Robinson, who placed second for editorial/opinion.

Other Lincoln-Way students who earned awards were:

Piper Eggener, Lincoln-Way West, who placed first in the features category; Charlotte Rohn, Lincoln-Way Central, who placed third in the editorial category, and Chase Cygan, Lincoln-Way Central, who placed second in the news category.
