Local Family Honors Son with Third Annual Golf Outing
Frankfort organization supports young adults for third year in a row.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Kevin Charles Kaler (KCK) Brightside Foundation, an organization founded in 2012 with the belief that all individuals deserve to reach their fullest potential, will host its third golf outing on September 15, 2016.
In past years, the event has served to introduce the KCK Brightside Foundation to the community. In its third year, the organization hopes to have its most successful event yet to honor the memory of Kevin Charles Kaler. The nonprofit was founded in 2012 by the Kalers after the tragic and unexpected death of their son Kevin. He was 21 years old.
“We’re very thankful that we’ve had the support of our community since the Foundation’s inception,” said Mark Kaler, Kevin's father and foundation president and co-founder. “We’re very excited to be able to donate funds to other nonprofits who are committed to bettering the lives of young adults who face difficulties.”
In the past two years, the outing has raised more than $50,000, which will eventually be donated to like-minded organizations. Specifically, KCK looks for foundations that support children and adults ages from 18 to 25. Previously, the KCK was able to donate to a charity in Whitefish, Montana in order to help provide ski and snowboard equipment for children in need.
Those interested in the event can register by calling Prestwick Country Club at (815) 469-5550. The outing is a two‐man team, stableford format, 18‐hole tournament. Lunch and registration begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Dinner, reception, awards and silent auction will take place immediately after golf; space is limited. Winners of the tournament receive 40% of the entry fee proceeds.
The Foundation also welcomes donations all year round that can be sent by check to The Kevin Charles Kaler Brightside Foundation, PO Box 1683, Frankfort, Illinois 60423.
