LWE JAZZ SHOWCASE IS THE PLACE TO BE!

Looking for some great local music and fun evening out? The Lincoln-Way East Music Department will be presenting its Jazz Showcase Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16.

This annual event features the school’s combos and big bands under the direction of Ben Clark and vocal jazz groups directed by Melissa Curtis. It’s sure to be a wonderful evening of great jazz music, ending with a chance to kick up your heels and do a little dancing to some big band favorites.

This year, the Lincoln-Way East Music Department is proud to welcome special guest artist, Chad Shoopman. An internationally acclaimed conductor and trumpet player , Mr. Shoopman is committed to music education and works with over 100 middle school, high school, and college bands worldwide. He his currently the music director for the national champion Brass Band of Central Florida and performs regularly with Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, Arturo Sandoval’s L.A. All-Star Band and The Woody Herman Orchestrs. Mr. Shoopman has also worked with Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Bernadette Peters, Natalie Cole and many more.

The $28 ticket includes an evening of amazing jazz entertainment as well as a buffet dinner with vegetarian and gluten-free options, beverages and dessert. There will be raffle table loaded with items donated by local businesses and individuals as well as souvenir cups for sale. All proceeds support the Lincoln-Way East Music Department.

Tickets can be ordered by downloading the form located on the Lincoln-Way East Music Department website at lwemusic.org. Ticket orders are due May 1st. There will be NO tickets sold at the door
