Matteson Man Gets 9 Years for Child Porn

A 36-year-old man was sentenced last month after an investigation revealed he shared the images in a chat room.

MATTESON, IL - A Matteson man accused of possessing child pornography has been sentenced to nine years in prison, according to a Daily Southtown report.

Robert Gressel, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography last month and was sentenced to spend the sentence in a state prison.

Gressel was charged in 2015 after an investigation that began in Georgia determined he often shared child pornography images with people in a chat room that he had formed and discussed child molestation. Several pieces of electronic equipment were seized by Matteson police, who have said an analysis found multiple gigabytes of alleged child porn on his phone.
