Matteson School Board Member Dies

MATTESON, IL - A Matteson School District 159 board member died last week.

The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled death of Pamela Walker, 54, was of natural causes, according to a report from the Daily Southtown. Walker was the board secretary.

“I’m shocked and saddened,” board member Elliot Johnson told the Southtown. “I really enjoyed her spirit … She was thought-provoking and had pushed the envelope.”

Two years remained on Walker’s term. The board hasn’t decided whether they will name a replacement before or after the April election.
