Mayoral Candidate Todd Morgan pens letter to citizens of Frankfort

Mayoral Candidate Todd Morgan pens letter to citizens of Frankfort

Dear Frankfort residents,

I moved to Frankfort 23 years ago to raise my young family in a community that I hoped would offer them all the things I felt they needed for their development . . . good schools, safe neighborhoods, parks, churches, friends and a great small town feeling. We enrolled the kids in school, joined a local church, signed up for many of the sports and activities, met the neighbors, and got involved by volunteering throughout the community.

From the beginning I always felt that Frankfort had the opportunity to be a premier community, but in my opinion it needed to be careful not to just follow other communities. Rather, Frankfort needed to take its own path, and seek its own identity to set it apart from the others.

In 2000 after serving for several years on the Strategic Planning Committee for Frankfort School District 157-C, coaching the kids’ sports programs, and volunteering in the community, I decided to run for Frankfort Village government as a Trustee. My sole motivation to serving the local government was because I believed then that more than ever Frankfort had the opportunity to be the premier community that I always felt it could be and I wanted to help make that happen.

After being elected in 2000 as a Village Trustee, I spent the next 14 years dedicated to pursuing that goal. Throughout my tenure, I pushed for higher-quality building materials, stronger ordinances for our housing and commercial developers, landscaping beautification ordinances, upgrades to our public works, increased police protection, improved bike paths, park enhancements, Downtown development and beautification, outdoor cafe seating for our restaurants, and other Village improvements.

Serving as a Village Trustee and having shown my proven leadership, vision, and fiscal responsibility in helping bring Frankfort to the level it is today makes me proud. However, I want to take Frankfort to the next level for today's families and I know how to do that.

So I am asking for your vote on April 4th 2017 to be elected as Mayor and help Frankfort continue on its path to be the best community in all the South Suburbs.

Sincerely,

Todd Morgan
