Petrow believes the most pressing issue facing the village is "the challenge of growth balanced with keeping our charm."
"In my experience, the most successful teams leverage diversity – in age, gender and skills. There are no women or my age demographic represented; we need the village board to reflect more of what our population looks like," Petrow said. "You can regularly see me and my family actively participating and volunteering our time in our schools, park district, and other community events. Many of you have or are raising families in our community. And I certainly will bring that important lens and missing perspective to the current board. As a working mom of three, I have learned the art of prioritization, compromise, working smart and working together."

Petrow also will advocate for design guidelines in the historic commercial and residential areas of downtown Frankfort, she said.
"I was born here, raised here and now raising my family in our community. In various ways Frankfort has stayed exactly the same, with the charm and small town feel that both old and new residents connect with. In many ways, we’ve grown and we will continue to develop. I will bring a fresh perspective and different lens to the current board. I will be that balance, honoring our past and embracing our future," she said.
