Mission Meals Gives Out 176 Meals in Mokena

On Tuesday, September 24, One Love Global Wellness Foundation, a 501(c) organization, provided meals to approximately 176 local individuals in need through its Mission Meals program.

Since its founding, One Love Global Wellness Foundation has served over 15,806 individuals and provided 158,350 pounds of food to community members. According to the organization's website, in Will County, 47,130 people lack consistent access to sufficient healthy food and 9.7% area children are food insecure.

Founded in 2011 to support local individuals in need – including children, seniors and families – the Mission Meals program partners with Mokena’s EggCetera Café and owners Dino and Gail Bastas.

The mission of the One Love Global Wellness Foundation is to provide programs and services to promote wellness in every aspect of life – Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Mission Meals on the Street provides bags with food, toiletries, and other necessities to homeless individuals living on the streets in our community. The organization’s Family in Crisis Program provides individuals or families in need with a one-time purchase of additional food, medical supplies, clothing, and necessities.

The next Mission Meals dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, at St. John United Church of Christ Community Center, 11100 2nd Street Mokena.
