Mission Meals Plans Holiday Dinner Dec. 3 in Mokena

Mission Meals, an annual holiday dinner tradition, will take place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. John United Church of Christ Community Center, located at 11100 2nd Street in Mokena.

The holiday event, catered by EggCetera Café, will provide a festive Christmas meal for community members in need. Families and children attending can look forward to a meal along with holiday surprises. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (708) 479-6613.

Last year, Mission Meals—operated by the non-profit One Love Global Wellness Foundation—served over 300 meals to local residents. Since its founding in 2011, the organization has supported over 15,806 individuals and distributed more than 158,350 pounds of food.

One Love Global Wellness Foundation was established to address food insecurity in Will County, where approximately 47,130 people, including 9.7% of children, struggle with reliable access to nutritious food. Through the Mission Meals program, EggCetera Café owners Dino and Gail Bastas and One Love Global Wellness Foundation have provided vital support to local families, seniors, and individuals in need during the holiday season and beyond.
