FRANKFORT, IL — At its meeting on Monday, the Frankfort Village Board approved preliminary development plans for the Misty Creek Township Development.
The project includes a 32-unit town home development on vacant property at the northwest corner of Laraway Road and 116th Avenue.
The Village Board also amended its future land use map for the project, changing the subject property from general commercial to single-family attached residential, according to board documents.

Trustee Margaret Farina said changing the future land use designation from commercial to residential for the property was "the right move."
"There is a school there, besides homes, there's a path to Old Plank Trail, so I do think that that would be a better use of that land," she said.
Farina said that she wants to reconsider the location of a planned dog park in final development plans for the project.
A public hearing was held on the project on Oct. 27, and the plan commission unanimously recommended that the board approve the preliminary development plan for the township development.
