FRANKFORT, IL — Misty McMichael, 55, the widow of Hall of Famer and Chicago Bears legend Steve "Mongo" McMichael, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery on Friday, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said deputies were called to a home on Kuse Road in Frankfort for a 911 hang-up at 5:25 a.m. Friday.

McMichael and a man both told police they had been drinking and arguing for hours, officials said. The man said the fight became physical and that McMichael choked him, according to the sheriff's office.

McMichael refuted this, telling police the argument did not become physical, the sheriff's office said.

A witness told police the two had been arguing for hours, and that they heard a lot of noise and banging and found McMichael and the man on the kitchen floor, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies noticed injuries and scratches on the man's neck, police said.

McMichael was arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. She was taken to the Adult Detention Facility.
