Mitch Esposito to Perform with the Purdue Glee Club
Mitch Esposito, Lincoln Way North Alum, Purdue University Varsity Glee Club, Performing Arts Center, Monday October 12th
On Monday October 12th at 7:00 PM, the world renowned Purdue University Varsity Glee Club will be performing at Lincoln Way North Fine Arts Center. Honored to be a featured performer will be Mitch Esposito, a 2012 graduate of LWN.
While at North, Mitch was active in all things musical – Choir, Acafellas, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Pep Band. As a junior and senior, he participated in the All-State Honors Choir. He was in all four musical productions, earning the role of Captain Von Trap in “The Sound of Music”, and starred in the title role of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”.
As a member of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, Mitch has performed all over the country, from Purdue’s campus in West Lafayette, to Chicago, to San Francisco. He toured with the Glee Club as they did a 5 country tour in Europe, performing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and Italy. The Glee Club also performed in Washington D.C. at the 2012 Presidential Inauguration.

Interesting enough, Mitch is not majoring in music, but instead will graduate in 2016 with a degree in mechanical engineering. In fact, none of the Glee Club members are music majors, as Purdue does not have a college of music, or even offer a major in music. This group dedicates hundreds of hours in rehearsal time, simply for the pleasure and privilege performing in over 60 shows a show a year – all in their spare time. Each and every one of them is driven by a passion for music and for performance
“My family was very excited with the opening of North in 2008. My sister Deanna was a junior at the time, and a member of the first graduating class. I was a freshman, and a member of the first 4 year class to graduate from North. While it’s sad to see that North will be closing, I am so excited to have the opportunity to perform one last time on the Lincoln Way North stage. And to make it even more special, Monday also happens to be my birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than performing in front of my family and friends!”
