FRANKFORT, IL — A Mokena man has been charged with home invasion after forcing his way into his ex-girlfriend's home in Frankfort Township and injuring her, the Will County Sheriff's Office said. Andrew Mason, 33, has been charged with domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, home invasion and criminal trespassing.
Deputies received a call of domestic trouble at 5:20 a.m. Sept. 8 in the 7500 block of Benton Drive. When they arrived, police said they spoke to a woman who said her ex-boyfriend, Mason, had arrived at her home and began kicking the garage door. Mason drove away, and returned a short time later, and again started kicking the garage door.
The woman called police and said she did not want Mason on her property. Mason had left the property at that ponit, but police said deputies conducted a traffic stop on Mason and told him not to return to the woman's home.

However, at 8 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the same address. The woman told police Mason had returned to her home and used a remote to gain entry into her garage. Police said when the woman heard the garage door open, she went to see what was going on, and found Mason inside. The woman yelled at him to leave, and a physical altercation took place, according to police.
During the struggle, Mason is accused of attempting to take the woman's cellphone and knocking it out of her hand as she tried to call 911. The woman began yelling for help, and Mason left the home, police said.
