Money Smart Week, Matteson Public Library, Home buying, layoffs, employment, education, Prairie State College, Midwest Equity Mortgage

Created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002, Money Smart Week® is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. This is achieved through the collaboration and coordinated effort of thousands of organizations across the country. Programming is offered to all demographics and income levels and covers all facets of personal finance.

Recovering From A Layoff -A Lynda.com Webinar -Monday April 24 at 7:00 pm and repeated on Thursday April 27 at 10:00 am
Learn how to recover quickly from a layoff and find employment again. Brie Reynolds begins with the first steps to take after a layoff, including making a structured recovery plan. Then she covers topics such as filling the gap in your resume, networking after a layoff, searching and applying for jobs, and interviewing for a job after you've been laid off.

Prairie State Workforce Development Information Session -Wednesday April 25 at 7:00 pm
Attend an information session to learn more about how to get training in the healthcare industry at no cost to you! Bring your questions, meet the Prairie State staff, learn about possible funding options through WIOA, and find out more about the programs. The following programs are offered: Health Unit Coordinator, Dialysis, Sterile Processing, Pharmacy Technician, Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA), Medical Billing and Coding.
