Breakfast, Lunch Spot to Open at Plaza Cafe Location

Former Chicago Heights Egg and I owner will open Kup A Joe Cafe after Easter. Find out what will be on the menu.

A new restaurant will open in the old location of , .

Kup A Joe Cafe will serve a full line of breakfast and lunch dishes, including signature salads, red velvet French toast, fresh fruit smoothies, cappuccino, lattes and chicken and waffles, said owner James Garofalo, adding that he's also planning to serve a menu of creative omelettes and Benedicts.

"(The location) is just so favorable," Garofalo said. "I like the Village of Frankfort. It's like an old-time town. Everyone seems so close there."

The cafe, which will have outdoor seating, still needs to go through inspections, but Garofalo said he plans on opening the Monday after Easter (April 9).

Garofalo, who is from New Lenox, has been in the restaurant business for 35 years, opening the Chicago Heights location of Egg and I in 1984. He sold that restaurant to his son in 1996 and has been helping him out there. Garofalo's other son owns and runs the Tinley Park Egg and I.
