New Lawsuit Against Frankfort Doctor Already Facing Felony Sex Charges

The Frankfort pediatrician slapped with felony sex charges and facing a civil lawsuit was sued again in Will County court.

Dr. Kishor Jain, who also lost his medical license pending a March 5 hearing before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, now has been accused by six different women of groping them in recent years.

The most recent lawsuit naming Jain as a defendant was brought by Kelly Meister, 34, of Frankfort. Meister claims that between 2007 and 2011, Jain once stuck his hand down her shirt and touched her breast, according to the lawsuit. On another occasion Jain massaged her breast and "became aroused and was making panting sounds as if he was clearly enjoying himself," the suit said.

Jain also "made inappropriate and sexual comments" to Meister, according to the suit.

Meister's lawyer, Jeffrey Deutschman, also represents a Manteno woman who brought a lawsuit against Jain last month. That suit, filed on behalf of Jessica Schubbe, 29, made similar claims.

Special Prosecutor Dave Neal said Schubbe is one of the five victims named in the criminal complaint against Jain but that she is identified in that case as Jessica Greenwood. Deutschman claimed Schubbe and Greenwood are not the same person and that Schubbe is not a victim in the criminal case. Deutschman later conceded he wasn't sure.

Publicity from Schubbe's civil case prompted a special prosecutor assigned to review a 2011 Frankfort police investigation of Jain's conduct to charge him with molesting five women. Jain was arrested Feb. 15 and is free on $10,000 bond.

Jain had been practicing out of Hedges Clinic on Colorado Avenue. Staff at Hedges said on Monday that Jain and the clinic had cut ties.

Jain has faced allegations of groping from patients in the past. He was arrested in January 2002 on misdemeanor battery charges stemming from his alleged assault of a 21-year-old patient. The Joliet woman accused Jain of touching her inappropriately.

The case was handed off to the Illinois Attorney General's Office after it was determined a staffer in the Will County State's Attorney's office had a relative who had been treated by a physician at Hedges Clinic.

Jain was found not guilty. The case was later expunged.

In 2002, two more women, Robin Mendoza and Kerry Tadej, sued Jain. Mendoza and Tadej claimed Jain "fondled  and touched (their) breasts and vagina."

The lawsuit said Mendoza took her son to see Jain in January 2001 and that Tadej was treated by the doctor in October 2001. Records show the case was settled out of court in May 2007.
