New Lenox Police Report Phone Fraud Case

The police reported that even more fraud is afoot in New Lenox, and this time it allegedly involves someone using another person's information to open a Verizon account.

An officer was alerted to the scam shortly after 3 p.m. Friday. A man had gone to the police station to fill the law in on what had happened and told the officer "an unknown person opened a Verizon account using his business’ information without his permission," police said.

The matter was sent to the department's investigations division for review, police said.
