Born in Joliet on September 14, 1955, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Frank and Eloisa (Leal) Hernandez. A graduate of Joliet West High School, she remained a lifelong resident of the local area. Throughout her career, she held positions at Western Electric, Local 150, and McKesson Pharmaceutical, though she considered her most cherished and significant roles to be those of wife, mother, and grandmother.

Rosemary is the beloved wife of 40 years to Bruce Meyer; loving mother of Krystle Lucatorto and Bruce (Anne) Meyer II; and stepmother to Katrina (Shawn) Givins. She was the devoted "G-ma" to her grandchildren, Rocco, Lydia, Braydon, Aubrey, and Lucas. She is also survived by her siblings, Frank Hernandez Jr. and Judy Hernandez; her sister-in-law, Judy and brother-in-law Fred Meyer; as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends; and her grandpuppies, Henry and Kona.

In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Roy Hernandez; and her feline companion, Angel.

Rosemary found great joy in traveling with friends and family, listening to music, fishing with her husband, and recently, learning to knit with her sister-in-law Judy. Above all, her passion was her family. She will be remembered for her selflessness, warmth, and a quiet strength that made everyone in her presence feel deeply cared for.

As per Rosemary’s request, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
